Job summary

G&W Electric Co is seeking an Electronic Technician II (Floor) for 2nd shift in Bolingbrook, IL. You will assemble, troubleshoot, connect, and test electronic assemblies of basic to moderate complexity while following drawings and procedures.

The role includes testing, inspection, and potential design improvement input. Key requirements include reading drawings, BOM interpretation, basic computer skills, and knowledge of wiring diagrams and schematics.

Qualifications

• Able to safely use small hand and power tools.
• Read and interpret drawings and Bills of Materials.
• Basic computer skills.
• Must have working knowledge of wiring diagrams, interconnect drawings / ladder logic, schematics and Gerber files.
• Able to bench troubleshoot wiring utilizing diagrams and discrete components.
• Knowledge of millimeters and power supplies.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently and follow written procedures.
• Able to assist with training of new employees on testing tasks.
• High School diploma, GED or combination of work experience and skill development.
• Must understand and follow verbal and written English instructions.
• Ideally holds an Associate’s degree in Electronics Engineering Technology or related discipline.
• Ideally 2-4 years in electronics technician capacity.

Responsibilities

• Assemble junction boxes, electronic controls, and other assemblies per drawings.
• Install and test completed electronic assemblies.
• Act as an inspector for final electronics checkout.
• Troubleshoot electronics for production and aftermarket support.
• Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing for stand-alone and system-connected controls.
• Document actions by completing production and quality forms.
