Job summary

Makom is hiring Direct Support Professionals to join our Reston, VA team. The role supports individuals with IDD to live self-determined, meaningful lives, with a Mon-Fri 3:30pm-11pm schedule.

You will provide person-centered care, assist with ADLs/IADLs, promote community involvement, and maintain health and safety standards. A high school diploma is required, and proficiency with Microsoft tools is expected. Background checks and driver license required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.
• Proficiency with Microsoft applications and general computer skills.
• Maintain professionalism and positive relationships with individuals, families, colleagues, and external partners.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds with assistance.

• Person-Centered Support: Provide individualized support based on each person’s skills, aspirations, and needs; help individuals live self-directed lives.
