Job summary

Makom in Bethesda, MD is hiring Direct Support Professionals to help individuals with IDD lead self-determined, meaningful lives in the community.

As a DSP you will provide person-centered support, assist with daily living, develop skills, and facilitate community engagement while maintaining health and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; further education in human services is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Proficiency with Microsoft applications and general computer skills.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds with assistance.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered support to help individuals lead self-directed lives.
• Support skill-building and personal growth in alignment with PCP/ISP.
• Facilitate community engagement to build social networks and opportunities.
• Provide coaching for Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and IADLs.
• Ensure health and safety in living and working environments.
