Job summary

Sweeping Corporation of America is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, and repair street sweepers and related heavy equipment. You will work 2nd shift (3:00 PM–12:30 AM) with minimal travel, performing inspections, preventive maintenance, and on-site repairs to keep our fleet safe and reliable for communities that rely on our services. Includes mandatory safety practices and tools management.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED
• 2 years of hands-on shop experience with hydraulic, electrical, and air systems
• Driver’s License
• Must provide and maintain basic hand and diagnostic tools
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must pass MVR, background check, and DOT physical/drug screen

Responsibilities

• Safety & inspection: identify hazards and follow lockout/tagout procedures.
• Execution: perform maintenance and repairs following specs and torque requirements.
• Equipment operation: use diagnostic tools to identify problems on sweepers and heavy equipment.
• Material handling: safely manage parts, lubricants, and fluids; dispose properly.
• Reporting: document issues, malfunctions, and safety concerns to management.
• Communication: convey maintenance needs and status to operators and team.
• Compliance & documentation: maintain reports and safety/compliance forms.
• Adaptability & problem solving: respond to unexpected failures and adjust repairs.
