Job summary

Good Samaritan Society in Auburn, NE is seeking a full-time cook/kitchen associate to prepare and serve meals for residents and staff. You will follow menus, HACCP guidelines, and safety standards in a fast-paced, collaborative kitchen environment.

The role requires basic math, ability to read and follow recipes and directions, and likely Serv Safe depending on location. Evening shifts with a 32-hour week support a balanced work-life schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Minimum of six months of applicable experience preferred.
• On-the-job training will be provided.
• Serv Safe may be required depending upon location.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, assemble baked goods, cook, season and portion food for patients/residents, staff and visitors.
• Adhere to food quality standards of appearance, taste, temperature and sanitation.
• Operate equipment and follow HACCP guidelines to ensure safe food handling.
• Maintain labeling and storage of food, equipment and machinery; ensure sanitation.
• Communicate effectively with internal customers and work as a team.
