Job summary

Good Samaritan Society is seeking a part-time dietary cook to prepare and serve food for patients, residents, staff, and visitors in a hospital setting. You will follow menu guidelines and dietary requirements while maintaining high standards of appearance, taste, temperature, and sanitation.

The role requires reading and following written directions, basic math, and the ability to work in a dynamic culinary environment. Training and potential Serv Safe compliance will be provided as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Possesses ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Minimum of six months of applicable experience preferred.
• On-the-job training will be provided.
• Serv Safe may be required to obtain within a designated time frame.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, assembles baked goods, cooks, seasons and portions food for patients/residents, staff, and visitors.
• Adheres to food quality standards of appearance, taste, temperature and sanitation.
• Follows HACCP guidelines to prepare, store and use food.
• Operates equipment such as mixers, slicers, kettles, ovens, and dishwashers.
