Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Part-time Cardiac Sonographer to perform echocardiography studies including M‑mode, 2‑D, Doppler, and Color Flow, ensuring high-quality imaging and accurate measurements.

The role supports Cardiovascular Diagnostics at Advocate Christ Medical Center with a .5 FTE second shift (12:00 PM–8:30 PM) and rotating Saturdays, requiring ARDMS credentials and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of complex sonographic principles, instrumentation and techniques.
• Knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology.
• Excellent interpersonal and patient service skills.
• Intermediate computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs cardiac ultrasound procedures (M-mode, 2-D, Doppler, Color Flow) and measurements for accurate interpretation.
• May assist physicians in Catheterization and Electrophysiology Labs with echocardiography.
• Prepares patients, records history, and communicates findings to staff.

Education

Advanced training beyond High School in Sonography
