Job summary

Advocate Health Care is seeking a part-time Ultrasound Technologist (20 hours per week) to perform high-quality ultrasound examinations and support the radiology team. You will position patients, operate ultrasound equipment, and assist physicians in optimizing study results.

Qualified candidates hold ARDMS certifications and meet licensure or credentialing requirements listed by the department; BLS certification is required within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an ARDMS-approved program is required.
• MD/DO? not applicable; licensure to ARDMS and ARRT varies by modality.
• BLS certification within 6 months is expected.

Responsibilities

• Position patients and select technical factors and equipment for optimal quality scans.
• Operate portable ultrasound equipment as needed for bedside exams.
• Assist physicians with recommendations for optimal studies and technical factors.
• Obtain pertinent patient history to inform radiologist before interpretation.
• Maintain safety standards and CPR certification; follow hospital policies.
• Record keeping: assemble daily patient schedules and prep folders.
• Guide students and fellow technologists; maintain patient privacy and respectful care.
