Qualifications

• Associate degree in medical laboratory technology / medical laboratory science or clinical laboratory science with four years of lab training or nonwaived testing experience, or a bachelor’s degree in chemical/biological science with two years of lab testing experience.
• Bachelor’s degree with two years of lab testing experience for specified specialty areas; or bachelor’s with certification (MLS or categorical) for Technical Coordinator II.
• Foreign educated candidates require credential evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-level MLT/MLS duties and provide operational leadership and workflow oversight.
• supervise in the absence of the section supervisor and participate in staff competency and coaching.
• Ensure quality control and QA, maintain documentation, and support accreditation requirements.
• Participate in quality improvement programs and cost/ productivity initiatives.
• Coordinate at least two special projects per year within the department.
