Job summary

Banner Health's Lab-Gateway in Gilbert, AZ seeks a Technical Coordinator I/II to apply advanced laboratory knowledge to testing, QA, and regulatory compliance. This role provides onsite supervision, leads workflow, and supports accreditation efforts under supervision.

You will mentor staff, participate in cost analysis, and drive quality improvement through QC procedures, with two projects annually. Evening shift; strong teamwork and communication required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree with four years of lab training or experience in nonwaived testing.
• Bachelor’s degree with two years of lab training or experience in nonwaived testing.
• Foreign educated candidates must provide credential evaluation for eligibility review.
• Bachelor’s degree with MLS or categorical certification and two years of nonwaived testing experience.
• Certain specialties may require bachelor’s with four years of experience where no certification exists.

Responsibilities

• Oversee high-level technical testing and problem solving in the department.
• Lead quality control and QA documentation to meet accrediting standards.
• Monitor inventory and contribute to cost analysis and financial performance.
• Provide staff training, competency development, and input for annual assessments.
• Serve as a liaison for on-site and System issues and coordinate special projects.

Education

Associate degree in medical laboratory technology or medical laboratory science or clinical laboratory science

Bachelor’s degree in chemical or biological science

Foreign credential evaluation from IERF or equivalent

Bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science/medical technology

MLS or categorical certification

Two years of nonwaived testing experience

Four years of nonwaived testing for certain specialties without certification
