Job summary

Rivian is seeking a hands-on Field Service Mobile Technician to support vehicle repairs across service centers and customer sites. The role emphasizes teamwork, adaptability, and a customer-focused approach in a fast-paced environment.

This level-agnostic posting recruits technicians across seniority levels based on business needs. The position will involve a 5pm–2am shift, a 15% differential for evening hours, and travel to various locations, including the production plant, to provide support

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Must be 21+ with valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• EV repair experience is a plus; background in automotive shop preferred.
• Willing to work 40 hours weekly including evenings, weekends, or overnight hours as needed.
• Proficient with Windows or Mac computers and basic data entry.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to read and interpret basic schematics.
• Experience with parts departments and work-order systems preferred.
• Strong customer-facing communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair Rivian vehicles in the field or at service centers.
• Identify Rivian products, EV framework, tools, and accessories.
• Follow repair procedures using available technical resources.
• Conduct road tests to verify repair quality.
• Manage parts operations: ordering, receiving, shipping, and inventory.
• Provide feedback to senior technicians or leadership on improvements.
• Support service campaigns and containment initiatives.
• Document all work and technical notes for internal and external use.
• Collaborate with a team and maintain high quality with minimal supervision.
• Communicate professionally with customers and families.
• Stay current with technical skills and complete required training.
• Interact with customers, 3rd party affiliates, and suppliers as needed.
