Job summary

Sundt Construction is seeking Estimator I and II candidates in the San Antonio area to support the preconstruction team on single large projects or multiple smaller projects. The role involves bid participation, working with Design Build and CM at Risk delivery methods, and providing administrative support to the estimating department.

Ideal candidates will have a four-year engineering degree or equivalent, 1–5 years of related experience depending on level, and familiarity with basic estimates,

Qualifications

• Four year engineering degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.
• Estimator I: 1-3 years experience; Estimator II: 2-5 years experience.
• Proficient use of all Microsoft Office Suite programs.

Responsibilities

• Accurately performs quantity takeoff.
• Assists in pricing of project logistics, including hoisting and temporary construction elements.
• Develops abstracts and evaluates basic trade bids.
• Develops understanding of indirect costs, including insurance, taxes and fees.
• Develops pricing for basic project elements and assists in preparing estimating deliverables.
• Drafts subcontracts and purchase orders for review by senior personnel.
• Provides document control for assigned projects.
• Solicits pricing for projects in hard bid environments.
• Supports conceptual estimating efforts with basic models.
• With oversight, develops budget uploads and purchasing plans.
