Job summary

Sundt in Tempe, AZ, seeks Estimator I/II developmental positions in the preconstruction department. Primary duties include participation in bid efforts, working with teams on Design Build and CM at Risk delivery methods, and providing administrative support to the estimating department.

The Estimator I/II will develop competence in basic estimating tasks and is developing an understanding of more advanced estimating principles including conceptual estimating, project logistics, and indirect

Qualifications

• Four-year engineering degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.
• Preferred LEED accreditation, or willingness to obtain.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite programs.

Responsibilities

• Accurately performs quantity takeoff and supports bid efforts.
• Assists in pricing project logistics such as hoisting and temporary construction elements.
• Develops abstracts and evaluates basic trade bids.
• Develops understanding of indirect costs including insurance, taxes, and fees.
• Pricing for basic project elements and assists in key estimating deliverables.
• Drafts subcontracts and purchase orders for review by seniors.
• Provides document control for assigned projects.
• Solicits pricing for projects in hard bid environments.
• Supports conceptual estimating efforts and develops basic models.
• Under supervision, develops budget uploads and purchasing plans.
