Job summary

Sundt Construction in El Paso is seeking an Estimator I/II to support bid efforts on large projects and collaborate with Design Build and CM at Risk teams. The role develops basic estimating skills while building toward advanced concepts like conceptual estimating, project logistics, and indirect costs.

Key duties include quantity takeoff, pricing of logistics, bidding support, subcontract drafting, and document control under senior supervision, with growth opportunities in the preconstruction

Qualifications

• Estimator I - 1-3 years of experience.
• Estimator II - 2-5 years of experience.
• Four-year engineering degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and related experience.
• LEED accreditation preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite programs.

Responsibilities

• Accurately performs quantity takeoff and supports bid efforts.
• Assists in pricing project logistics (hoisting, lifts, temporary elements).
• Develops abstracts and evaluates basic trade bids.
• Understands indirect costs (insurance, taxes, fees).
• Prepares pricing for basic project elements and key deliverables.
• Drafts subcontracts and purchase orders for senior review.
• Provides document control (plans distribution, addenda).
• Solicits pricing in hard bid environments.
• Supports conceptual estimating and developing basic models.
• Assists with budget uploads and purchasing plans under supervision.
