Job summary

Sundt in Tempe, AZ is seeking an Estimator I or II in the preconstruction department to support bid efforts for large projects and assist with Design Build and CM at Risk delivery methods.

The role involves quantity takeoffs, pricing of logistics, and development of abstracts, with emphasis on indirect costs and budgeting. Four-year engineering degree or equivalent experience required; MS Office proficiency essential.

Qualifications

• Four-year engineering degree or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience.
• LEED accreditation preferred, or willingness to obtain.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Accurately performs quantity takeoff.
• Assists in pricing of project logistics, including hoisting, personnel lifts, and temporary elements.
• Develops abstracts and evaluates basic trade bids.
• Develops understanding of indirect costs, including insurance, taxes, and fees.
• Develops pricing for basic project elements and assists in preparation of key estimating deliverables.
• Drafts subcontracts and purchase orders for review by senior personnel.
• Provides document control for assigned projects.
• Solicits pricing for projects in the hard bid environment.
• Supports conceptual estimating efforts with basic models for review by senior personnel.
• Under supervision, develops budget uploads and purchasing plans.
