Job summary

WSP is seeking an ESSP Electrical Engineer – Experience Professional for our Fort Worth, TX office. In this role you will contribute to protective relaying, power system planning, and design studies within the ESSP team, supporting projects across multiple sites.

Ideal candidates have a BSEE or ABET-accredited degree, 3–5 years of relevant design experience, and an EIT certification. Travel to project sites may be required as part of programs.

Qualifications

  • ABET-accredited BSEE (or equivalent) required.
  • 3–5 years in design or device configuration in electrical disciplines.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
  • Knowledge of electrical engineering principles, practices, processes, and project work.
  • Strong written and oral communication and teamwork.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Protective Relaying analyses and relay settings calculations, coordination, and SCADA integration.
  • Power system planning studies including load flow, contingencies, and voltage stability analyses.
  • Design studies covering grounding, insulation coordination, and power quality.
  • Networking/communications planning for RTUs, SCADA, and HMI systems; site travel for commissioning.
  • Logic and control systems development and testing at project sites.
  • Prepare technical reports with findings and conclusions.
