Job summary

WSP in Fort Worth, TX seeks an ESSP Electrical Engineer – Experience Professional to join our Fort Worth office. You will contribute to Protective Relaying, Power System Planning, Design Studies, and Networking for SCADA and protection projects across multiple sites.

This role offers exposure to state-of-the-art power delivery, support for large-scale energy projects, and opportunities to travel to project sites as needed. ABET-accredited degree required; EIT certification preferred.

Qualifications

  • BSEE (or equivalent) from ABET-accredited university.
  • 3–5 years designing or configuring in power/ESSP domains.
  • Engineer in Training certificate.
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and permitting.
  • Analytical mindset with sound judgement for project work.
  • Clear communication and teamwork, with ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Protective Relaying analysis, SCADA integration, and NERC compliance.
  • Power system planning studies including voltage stability, contingencies, and dynamic performance.
  • Substation grounding, insulation coordination, and power quality studies.
  • Design and configure RTU networks and protective relays with Go/IEC protocols.
  • Prepare technical reports with calculations, sketches, and software outputs.
  • Support field work, risk assessments, and project planning tasks.
  • Travel to project sites as required.

Education

BSEE / BSEET / BSCE (ABET-accredited university)
