Job summary

WSP is seeking an ESSP Electrical Engineer – Experience Professional for our Fort Worth, TX office, with consideration for Houston, Overland Park, and St Louis. You will contribute to Protective Relaying, Power System Planning, and Design Studies across generation, substation, and transmission projects.

The role emphasizes independent work and teamwork, strong communication, and adherence to safety policies. A BSEE/BSCE/ABET-accredited degree and EIT certification are preferred.

Qualifications

  • ABET-accredited degree in electrical engineering or related field.
  • 3–5 years of design or device configuration experience.
  • Engineer in Training Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Protective Relaying analysis, settings, and SCADA integration.
  • Power system planning studies including power flow and contingencies.
  • Design studies for grounding, insulation, and power quality.
  • Networking/communications design for RTUs, relays, and HMIs.
  • Logic/control schemes for remote/local operation; field testing.
  • Write technical reports and support risk assessment.
  • Assist with work plans, site coordination, and training.
  • Travel to project sites as required.
