Job summary

Software Placement Group, SPG in Madison, WI seeks an Account Executive & Estimator to drive commercial HVAC new construction business. You will build relationships with general contractors and facility owners, estimate project costs, and craft high-margin proposals with internal engineering teams.

The role offers an aggressive commission upside, ESOP ownership, profit sharing, and significant autonomy in daily scheduling and client engagement, with field travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial HVAC or mechanical contracting experience including estimating or sales.
• Solid knowledge of HVAC systems, ductwork, piping, airflow, and Wisconsin codes.
• Proven ability to close business with GCs and facility owners.
• Capable of managing multiple high-stakes bids simultaneously.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally.

Responsibilities

• Build long-term relationships with GC, developers, and facility directors to secure new construction and service contracts.
• Accurately estimate equipment, labor, material, and vendor costs for HVAC and piping projects using estimating software.
• Translate client requirements into high-margin design/build proposals with internal engineering teams.
• Solicit quotes from vendors/subcontractors and assemble winning bid packages for commercial clients.
• Participate in pre-bid walkthroughs, alignment meetings, and handoff reviews to transition work to field staff.
• Maintain and expand relationships with established commercial accounts for recurring contracts.
