Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) seeks a dedicated Shift Lead to keep shifts smooth and ensure top-tier care for patients. You’ll manage workflow, coach the team, and step in on the floor to support colleagues as needed.

You will coordinate breaks, lead huddles, and maintain clear communication with staff and clients. Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays in a fast-paced ER is essential.

Qualifications

• CVT/RVT/LVMT credentialing preferred.
• 1+ years of experience in a veterinary technician or assistant role; emergency or specialty medicine preferred.
• Strong grasp of clinical workflow and team dynamics.
• Ability to lead with empathy and coordinate floor operations.

Responsibilities

• Keep pulse on patient status, team bandwidth, and shift-wide needs.
• Manage daily workflow and pivot during emergencies.
• Assign and adapt shift roles with clarity and care.
• Step onto the floor to assist; no task is too small.
• Coordinate breaks, resolve conflicts, and model calm under pressure.
• Lead shift transitions, huddles, and end-of-day wrap-ups.
• Communicate clearly and elevate key issues to leadership.
• Foster learning and growth during downtime.
