Job summary

VEG is seeking a Nursing Manager to lead our veterinary emergency nursing team, shaping a culture where staff feel empowered, connected, and proud of their work. You will bridge process and patient care to drive exceptional outcomes and mentor VEGgies to grow within the organization.

This role focuses on providing compassionate leadership, maintaining high clinical standards, and fostering a learning environment with ongoing mentorship and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Licensed veterinary technician credentials required in the practice state.
• 5+ years in a clinical veterinary nursing role; emergency experience preferred.
• 2+ years in a leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day flow for nursing team with tools and support
• Oversee scheduling, payroll, productivity, hiring, onboarding/offboarding
• Address patient care issues and team dynamics with empathy and clarity
• Partner with hospital leadership to align on goals and hospital flow
• Guide team development using doctor feedback to maintain medical excellence
• Lead with VEG values—openness, togetherness, heroic helping
• Champion learning with in-house training, mentorship, and development pathways
• Ensure licensure, performance standards, and education programs are upheld
• Drive 1:1s, check-ins, and student mentorship for career growth
