Job summary

VEG is recruiting a Nursing Manager to lead a veterinary nursing team in emergency services. You will empower, connect, and inspire the team while maintaining exceptional patient care and a culture of learning.

This leadership role focuses on transforming the emergency nursing experience for staff, customers, and patients. You will collaborate with hospital leadership to optimize operations, mentor staff, and drive growth.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a clinical veterinary nursing role, emergency‑specific experience preferred
• 2+ years of leadership experience
• Excellent communication and people skills
• Willing to work in a noisy environment with strong odors
• Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis

Responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day flow for nursing team, ensuring tools and support
• Oversee scheduling, payroll, productivity, hiring, onboarding and offboarding
• Address patient care issues and team dynamics with empathy and clarity
• Partner with hospital leadership to align on goals and flow
• Use doctor feedback to guide team development and maintain medical excellence
• Lead with VEG values—openness, togetherness, heroic helping
• Champion ongoing learning with in‑house training and mentorship
• Ensure licensure, performance standards, and education programs are upheld
• Drive meaningful 1:1s and career growth conversations
