Job summary

VEG for Pets seeks a Nursing Manager to lead its veterinary emergency nursing team. You will cultivate a culture of empowerment, collaboration, and patient-centered care, bridging process and purpose to ensure exceptional outcomes for patients and the VEGgies.

In this role you will oversee scheduling, payroll, and performance standards, mentor staff, uphold licensure, and drive learning through in-house training and mentorship programs while advancing the hospital's flow and medical excellence.

Qualifications

• CVT/RVT/LVMT credential required in the practice state.
• 5+ years in clinical veterinary nursing; emergency experience preferred.
• 2+ years of leadership experience.
• Excellent communication and people skills.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day flow for nursing team with tools and support.
• Oversee scheduling, payroll, productivity, hiring, onboarding and offboarding.
• Address patient care issues and team dynamics with empathy and clarity.
• Partner with hospital leadership to align goals and hospital flow.
• Lead with VEG values and mentor staff through development pathways.
• Ensure licensure, performance standards, and education across the team.
• Drive 1:1s, check-ins, and student mentorship for long-term growth.
