Job summary

VEG ER for Pets is seeking an experienced Nursing Manager to lead a veterinary emergency nursing team. You will build a culture of empowerment, collaboration, and clinical excellence while connecting process with purpose to ensure outstanding patient care.

You will mentor staff, manage scheduling, onboarding/offboarding, licensure, and education programs, and partner with hospital leadership to optimize flow and patient outcomes in a fast-paced, high‑impact environment.

Qualifications

• Credentialed veterinary technician per state requirements.
• 5+ years in clinical veterinary nursing; 2+ years in leadership.
• Excellent communication and people skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day nursing team flow and provide necessary tools and support.
• Oversee scheduling, payroll, productivity, hiring, onboarding and offboarding.
• Address patient care issues and team dynamics with empathy and clarity.
• Partner with hospital leadership to align goals and hospital flow.
• Use doctor feedback to guide team development and maintain medical excellence.
• Lead with VEG values—openness, togetherness, heroic helping.
• Champion learning with in-house training, mentorship, and development paths.
• Ensure licensure, performance standards, and education programs are upheld.
• Drive 1:1s, check-ins, and student mentorship for career growth.
