VEG for Pets in Greenville, SC is seeking Veterinary Nursing Shift Leads to keep shifts running smoothly, ensure top-tier patient care, and support VEGgies on the floor.

You’ll coordinate breaks, guide team transitions, and mentor teammates, while maintaining a calm, efficient environment in a busy emergency hospital.

Successful candidates are CVTs or equivalent, with 1+ year in veterinary emergency settings, strong communication, and a motivation to grow.

Qualifications

• Credentialed veterinary technician preferred and enrolled in VEG program encouraged.
• 1+ years in a veterinary technician or assistant role; emergency or specialty experience preferred.
• Strong grasp of clinical workflow and team dynamics.
• Ability to guide others with empathy and strong communication.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays on rotating basis.

Responsibilities

• Keep pulse on patient status, team bandwidth, and shift-wide needs.
• Manage daily workflow and pivot when the unexpected hits.
• Assign and adapt shift roles with clarity and care.
• Step in on the floor when needed and model calm under pressure.
• Lead break coverage, conflicts, and end-of-day wrap-ups.
• Coordinate shifts, team huddles, and transitions smoothly.
• Communicate clearly and elevate key issues to leadership.
• Turn downtime into learning time and support growth.
• Support hospital leadership on coverage and coaching.
