Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is hiring a unit receptionist for the Emergency Room at our Leominster campus. You will greet patients, direct visitors, answer phones, and relay messages while maintaining accurate patient charts and coordinating with care teams.

The role requires strong communication, the ability to handle multiple priorities, and 3 to 12 months of related experience. This is a full-time, on-site position with an evening shift and a competitive starting pay.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Serves as unit receptionist, directs patients and visitors, answers phones and relays messages.
• Uses the pneumatic tube system and coordinates specimen transport.
• Transcribes physician orders and enters orders into the system according to procedures.
• Maintains patient charts and medical records; ensures chart completeness and accessibility.
• Schedules patients for consults and diagnostic/therapeutic services, coordinating transportation as needed.
