Job summary

UTMB Health is seeking an ER Technician II for the League City ED. The role provides intermediate technical assistance and patient care across the Emergency Department, including vital signs, specimen collection, and routine procedures under the supervision of nurses and clinicians.

Ideal candidates will have EMT or nursing program experience, EMS certification, or military medic training, with a strong focus on patient safety, hygiene, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Completion of EMT program OR enrollment in a recognized School of Nursing with first semester clinical concepts
• Active state EMS certification in good standing at date of hire
• Recognized military training as a US Army medic, US Navy Corpsman, US Air Force Medic or US Coast Guard Corpsman

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs, height/weight, intake/output and collect specimens.
• Perform Point of Care Testing and document results.
• Assist with patient activities and basic care as directed by charge nurse.
• Provide hygiene care, mobility support, feeding and elimination assistance.
• Assist with admission, transfer and discharge of patients.
• Maintain patient safety and confidentiality; ensure clean, safe environment; aseptic technique and infection control.
