Formación

• Completion of one of the following technical programs and one (1) year of related experience
• EMT program completion
• Enrollment in a nursing program with first-semester clinicals and health assessments
• Active state EMS certification in good standing at hire date
• Military training as US Army medic, US Navy Corpsman, US Air Force Medic, or US Coast Guard Corpsman
• ER Tech CBO Tool completion within 6 months of employment

Responsabilidades

• Provide intermediate technical assistance and supportive patient care in the Emergency Department
• Collect vital signs, height/weight, intake/output, pulse oximetry; collect specimens
• Performs and reports Point of Care Testing
• Assist with patient activities and care as per plan of care
• Maintain patient hygiene and assist with elimination, mobility, feeding
• Assist with admission, transfer, discharge; chaperone during exams/procedures
• Prepare patients and assist with procedures; maintain a clean, safe environment
• Follow proper aseptic technique and infection control measures
• Communicate clearly with nurses and multidisciplinary team
• Notify staff of missing/broken equipment; coordinate with equipment manager
• Maintain supplies and assist with patient requests for hospital services
• Set up Labor & Delivery tables for ER deliveries and assist with procedures
• Support quality improvement activities and cost containment

Educación

EMT program completion

Enrolled in nursing program with first-semester clinicals

Active state EMS certification at hire

Recognized military medic training

ER Tech CBO Tool within 6 months
