Job summary

Qualifications

• Completion of EMT program or enrollment in nursing program with first semester clinical concepts
• Active state EMS certification in good standing at hire date
• Military training as US Army medic / Navy corpsman / Air Force medic / Coast Guard corpsman
• BLS from AHA is required

Responsibilities

• Collects vital signs, height/weight, intake/output, pulse oximetry; collects specimens.
• Performs and reports Point of Care Testing.
• Assists with patient activities and care as directed by the charge nurse.
• Provides for patient hygiene, including bathing, suctioning, wound care, elimination assistance, catheter care, ostomy care.
• Assists with feeding, ambulation, positioning and turning.
• Assists with admission, transfer, and discharge processes.
• Prepares patients and chaperones during examinations/procedures; assists with treatments.
• Ensures patient safety; assists with restraints and maintains privacy and confidentiality.

EMT program

Nursing program - first semester with clinical concepts

Active state EMS certification

Recognized military medical training (medic)
