Job summary

UTMB Health in League City, Texas seeks an Emergency Department Tech to provide intermediate technical assistance and supportive patient care. You will work across assigned areas, assisting nurses and clinicians while maintaining patient safety and privacy.

The role requires completion of an EMT program or nursing school in progress with clinical concepts, along with an active EMS certification and BLS. You will help with procedures, patient prep, and essential ED tasks daily.

Qualifications

• Completion of EMT program or enrollment in nursing school with first semester completed.
• Active state EMS certification in good standing at date of hire.
• Recognized military training as a US Army medic, Navy Corpsman, Air Force Medic, or Coast Guard Corpsman.
• Completion of ER Tech CBO Tool within 6 months of employment.
• BLS from American Heart Association (AHA).

Responsibilities

• Collects vital signs, height/weight, intake/output, pulse oximetry, and specimens.
• Performs and reports Point of Care Testing.
• Assists with patient activities and care per plan of care.
• Assists with personal hygiene and basic care tasks.
• Assists with admission, transfer, and discharge of patients.
