Job summary

UAB Medicine's expanding Emergency Department at UAB Hospital invites registered nurses to join a large, leading trauma center. You will provide direct patient care, use critical thinking, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality emergency care.

The role requires an RN license in Alabama, with BLS (and ACLS/PALS as needed) and a nursing degree. Multiple shift options are available, including nights, with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 3 years or more of nursing experience preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited Nursing program required.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.
• BLS certification is required or should be obtained within 30 days of employment.
• ACLS and/or PALS may be required depending on unit/department.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care using the nursing process and collaborate with the care team.
• Identify patient needs using AACN Synergy Model.
• Delegate, coordinate and manage nursing care for patients and families.
• Provide care in coordination with physicians, psychologists, podiatrists, podiatricians, and dentists.
