Job summary

UAB Medicine in Alabama is expanding its Emergency Department and hiring RN staff for full-time and part-time shifts, including AM/PM and weekend coverage. The unit emphasizes an advanced patient-care environment with leading-edge technology and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Qualified applicants will have 3+ years of nursing experience (BSN preferred), Alabama RN licensure, and BLS; ACLS/PALS may be required by some units. Competitive benefits include education assistance and PSLF eligibility.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of nursing experience preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited Nursing program required.
• RN license in Alabama or eligible to be licensed required.
• BLS certification required or to be obtained within 30 days of employment.
• ACLS and/or PALS may be required depending on unit/department.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care using the AACN Synergy Model.
• Coordinate and manage all aspects of nursing care for patients and families.
• Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, podiatrists and dentists as needed.
• Provide health teaching, counseling and supportive care to promote recovery.
