Job summary

UAB Medicine’s Emergency Department in Alabama is expanding to support 115+ treatment and triage spaces and a 30-bed observation unit. The role offers full-time/part-time shifts, with AM/PM coverage in a high-volume trauma setting and access to modern equipment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of nursing experience preferred.
• 2+ years of experience preferred in psychiatric nursing, psychiatric emergency nursing, or correctional nursing.
• Graduate of an accredited Nursing program required; Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• Active RN license in Alabama and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or obtained within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care and counseling using the nursing process to promote health and prevent illness.
• Coordinate care with physicians, psychologists, Podiatrists and dentists as applicable.
• Delegate and manage nursing activities, ensuring timely, cost-effective patient care.
