Job summary

UAB Medicine is expanding its Emergency Department in Alabama and is hiring registered nurses to join a large, high-volume ED. You will use standardized nursing processes to assess and care for patients, participate in patient education, and collaborate with physicians and care teams to deliver timely interventions.

The role requires an active Alabama RN license, BLS certification, and 3+ years of nursing experience with preference for those with psychiatric emergency or related settings.

Qualifications

• Must have nursing experience; 3+ years preferred.
• 2+ years in psychiatric, psychiatric emergency, or correctional settings preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited Nursing program; BSN preferred.
• Current RN license in Alabama or eligibility required; BLS certification required or obtained within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care using the nursing process and health-promotion counseling.
• Collaborate with physicians, families, and care teams to deliver timely, cost-effective patient care.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient needs and deliver life-saving care in a high-volume ED setting.
