Job summary

Fort Smith Emergency Hospital is seeking a Patient Service Representative (PRN) to ensure smooth check-in and check-out in the emergency center. The role requires clear communication, organization, and a commitment to patient confidentiality and safety.

Responsibilities include front desk operations, financial reconciliation of payments, and maintaining a clean, welcoming environment. Experience with EMR systems and ER registration is highly valued.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a PSR role within a Hospital, ER, or Clinic.
• Experience in medical registration, admitting, and scheduling in an ER setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Front Desk Operations: Greet patients, determine services, collect demographics and signatures for billing accuracy, log patient information, and manage inquiries and supplies.
• Financial Responsibilities: Collect payments for co-pays and balances, maintain a ledger and reconcile accounts daily.
• Facility Cleanliness: Help maintain cleanliness of patient areas and restrooms.
• Communication Skills: Interact professionally with patients, families, physicians, and staff while upholding hospital values.
• Professional Development: Attend monthly staff meetings and participate in performance improvement activities.
• Other Duties: Assist management with tasks or projects as needed.
• Nonessential: Stocking supplies and assisting with restraint documentation as required.
