Job summary

Northern Nevada Medical Center is seeking a per diem ER Registered Nurse to join the fast-paced Emergency Department. The role requires coordinating care with ED physicians, triaging patients, and delivering high-quality nursing care around the clock for all ages.

Ideal candidates will have NV RN licensure and 2–3 years in emergency or critical care settings, plus current BLS; ACLS/PALS within 6 months of hire. EMS background is a plus, with opportunities across UHS facilities.

Qualifications

• Current NV RN License.
• Two to three years in the emergency department preferred.
• Two to three years in critical care preferred.
• EMS background experience.
• Current BLS Certification; ACLS and PALS within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and evaluate outcomes, coordinating with specialists as needed.
• Perform head-to-toe assessments across age groups (pediatric to geriatric).
• Utilize triage to ensure timely and appropriate care and accurately assign categories.
• Monitor hemodynamics and interpret results.
• Educate patients and families on pain management and care plans.
