Job summary

Northern Nevada Health System's Emergency Department is seeking a per diem RN to deliver professional nursing care in a fast-paced, 24/7 ER. You will triage, assess, and coordinate with ED physicians to address trauma, acute pain, and other emergent conditions.

The role requires an active Nevada RN license and current BLS; ACLS and PALS certification within 6 months of hire, with opportunities for professional growth within NNHS.

Qualifications

• Current NV RN License
• Two to three years exp in the emergency department preferred OR
• Two to three years critical Care Exp OR
• extensive EMS background experience
• Current BLS Certification
• Current ACLS Certification (within 6 months of hire)
• Current PALS Certification (within 6 months of hire)

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
• Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy. This includes pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patients and the general patient population
• Uses triage process to ensure timely and appropriate care to patients. Accurately assigns triage categories.
• Ability to monitor hemodynamic status of patient and correctly interpret the results.
• Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques. Educates the patient and family regarding pain management.
