Job summary

Northern Nevada Medical Center in Sparks, NV is seeking a dynamic Emergency Department Registered Nurse for per diem shifts. You will provide direct and indirect patient care across age groups, collaborate with physicians, and respond quickly to changes in patient condition with compassion and professionalism.

Must hold current Nevada nursing license, ACLS and BLS, and obtain PALS within six months. ER experience of at least 2.5 years preferred; willingness to float to all units.

Qualifications

• Current NV nursing license.
• Current ACLS & BLS certification.
• PALS certification to be obtained within six months of employment.
• At least 2.5 years of ER experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
• Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy across pediatric, adult and geriatric populations.
• Uses triage process to ensure timely and appropriate care to patients and accurately assigns triage categories.
• Communicates changes in patient condition with physicians and collaborates on treatment plans.
