Job summary

Universal Health Services in Sparks, NV seeks an ER Registered Nurse for a per diem assignment. The role involves providing professional nursing care in the Emergency Department, coordinating with other disciplines and responding quickly to changes in patient status.

The position requires an active NV RN license and 2–3 years of ED experience, with BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications either current or within 6 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Current NV RN License
• Two to three years exp in the emergency department preferred OR
• Two to three years critical Care Exp OR
• extensive EMS background experience
• Current BLS Certification
• Current ACLS Certification (within 6 months of hire)
• Current PALS Certification (within 6 months of hire)

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
• Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy. This includes pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patients and the general patient population
• Uses triage process to ensure timely and appropriate care to patients. Accurately assigns triage categories.
