Community Health Systems, Inc. seeks a full-time ER Admitting Clerk to support the Admitting department at Mountain View Regional Medical Center in Las Cruces, NM. Night shifts run Sunday–Tuesday 6:00 pm–6:00 am and Wednesday 6:00 pm–12:00 am.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of admissions, customer service and/or public relations experience required
• 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare setting preferred

Responsibilities

• Registers patients efficiently and accurately, entering all required information into the registration system and obtaining signatures on consent forms.
• Verifies insurance coverage and identifies plan codes to ensure accurate billing and prompt payment.
• Explains ABNs and financial documents to patients and families as required.
• Counsels self-pay patients on procedure costs, payment options, and available resources, documenting interactions.
• Secures and logs patient valuables upon admission and logs identification armbands for patient care.
• Reads physician orders to determine registration steps and ensures accurate order entry for ancillary departments.
• Notifies departments or physicians of patient arrivals and follows up on delays to ensure timely service.
• Assists with bed assignments for inpatients, coordinating with nursing for available resources.
• Operates a multi-line phone system, relays messages promptly and accurately.
• Maintains communication during emergency codes and supports facility emergency plans.
• Performs other duties as assigned and maintains regular attendance.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
