You will verify personal and insurance details, collect co-pays, and ensure accurate, confidential records while delivering excellent customer service.

The role supports efficient department operations, with focus on accurate documentation and communication across clinical and administrative teams.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education or training in medical office administration or healthcare administration preferred.
• 0-2 years of experience in a healthcare setting including patient registration, medical office scheduling, or front desk/admissions required.
• 0-2 years of experience in customer service preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and families in a professional and compassionate manner.
• Registers patients for emergency services and collects required information.
• Verifies patient identification and insurance details, updating records as needed.
• Obtains signatures on consent forms and explains each consent.
• Verifies insurance coverage and eligibility for billing.
• Collects patient co-pays or deductibles when applicable.
• Assists patients with understanding insurance requirements and questions.
• Maintains accurate documentation for patient visits.
• Notifies physicians and departments of patient arrival and delays.
• Maintains confidentiality and professionalism in high-stress situations.
