Job summary

Cable Services Company is seeking an Equipment Operator in Lancaster, NY to operate hydraulic excavation equipment for underground utilities projects, including conduit, gas, water, sewer and electric installations. The role requires ability to read plans, manage soil and utilities, and work 10+ hour shifts in varying weather conditions.

Candidate should have at least 1 year of heavy equipment experience and be willing to travel to project sites with occasional overnight stays.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret engineering/construction prints, plans, and specifications.
• Knowledge of utility depths and placements.
• General knowledge of construction practices.
• Ability to work in loud environments and outdoors.
• Ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload equipment securely and damage-free.
• Transport tools, materials, and equipment safely.
• Perform daily inspections of equipment prior to use.
• Operate excavation equipment to place underground utilities.
• Locate and verify utilities against blueprints.
• Identify utilities and bore paths; connect/stub conduit and wire as required.
• Dig pits, trenches, or potholes and restore disturbed areas.
• Complete timesheets, vehicle logs, and expense reports.
