You will manage lower severity claims, coordinate with outside counsel, and provide legal support to underwriting and claim colleagues while ensuring compliant, well-documented processes.

The role emphasizes negotiation, strategic risk assessment, and collaboration across teams. A JD and active license are required, with travel to mediations and meetings as needed.

Qualifications

• One to five years of relevant legal or claim handling work experience.
• Strong negotiation and settlement skills.
• Solid verbal and written communication with coverage determinations.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, investigate, and resolve Bond & Specialty Claims of lower severity with supervision.
• Manage outside counsel relationships and negotiate settlements.
• Prepare loss development and risk management reports with management guidance.
• Provide legal support to underwriting and claim teams.
• Attend mediations, settlements, trials, depositions as needed.
• Maintain thorough documentation and confidentiality of claim activities.
