Job summary

The University of Iowa is seeking an IT Support Consultant to provide EHR training to new and current end users, develop educational resources, and support Epic training initiatives. Responsibilities include classroom/virtual training, resource development, and coordinating training logistics within a hybrid Iowa-based setting.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s in education or related field, 1–3 years in application/tech support, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Experience (1-3 years) in application and/or technology support.
• Experience developing curriculum and educational resources.
• Experience providing focused training in large and small group settings.
• Experience communicating technical information to non-technical customers.
• Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing.
• Experience working independently with a strong focus on customer service.
• Driver's License and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Standards.
• Education credentials and adult classroom teaching.
• Experience with Audio/Visual editing software (Camtasia, Articulate, etc.).
• Clinical, patient access or revenue experience in healthcare.
• Understanding of clinical workflows and Epic EHR knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provide EHR training to new end users and assist current users to optimize EHR use.
• Develop educational resources and assessments; test and support systems.
• Coordinate training logistics and classes; deliver group or one-on-one sessions.
• Present system upgrades to end users and create video trainings.
• Liaise between end users and IT; mentor staff in areas of expertise.
• Work with Epic training support and validate educational outputs.
