Job summary

CVS Health is seeking an Epic EHR Development Lead to steer design, configuration, and optimization of Epic solutions across clinical, operational, and revenue cycle domains. You will provide technical and functional leadership for Epic development, integrations, and enhancements while aligning with clinical workflows and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

Certified in Ambulatory OR Healthy Planet OR Both.
Experience thinking critically and solving problems in a large matrixed healthcare organization.
Experience presenting and problem solving with senior leadership.
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, or Computer Science (or equivalent).
7+ years of Epic EHR experience, including hands-on build and configuration.
3+ years in a lead, senior analyst, or supervisory role supporting Epic systems.
Active Epic certification(s) in one or more Epic modules.
Strong understanding of healthcare clinical workflows and operations.
Experience leading complex Epic projects or large-scale implementations.
Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

Lead and mentor Epic analysts, developers, and configuration teams across Epic modules.
Serve as primary technical and functional escalation point for Epic-related development issues.
Define and enforce Epic development standards, build guidelines, and governance processes.
Partner with Informatics, Clinical Leadership, and IT leadership to align Epic development with strategy.
Contribute to Epic roadmap planning, optimization initiatives, and system upgrades.
Oversee Epic application build, configuration, and customization across modules (ClinDoc, Orders, Cadence, Prelude, Resolute, Willow, Beaker, Radiant, Cupid, MyChart, etc.).
Ensure Epic development adheres to best practices, security standards, and regulatory requirements (HIPAA, CMS, Joint Commission).
Review and approve design specs, build documentation, and change requests.
Lead complex Epic enhancements, workflows, and clinical decision support development.
Guide development and support of Epic integrations (HL7, FHIR, Bridges, Interconnect, APIs).
Collaborate with interface and infrastructure teams for data exchange and performance.
Support testing strategies including unit testing, integrated testing, and UAT.
Oversee Epic upgrades, patches, and special updates.
Translate clinical and operational needs into technical Epic solutions.
Facilitate design sessions and workflow reviews with clinicians and business partners.
Communicate risks, timelines, and impacts clearly to stakeholders.
Support go-lives, stabilization, and post-implementation optimization.
Monitor system performance, data integrity, and user adoption metrics.
Ensure Epic configurations support patient safety, clinical quality, and reporting requirements.
Identify opportunities for workflow automation and optimization.
