Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a functional and technical leader to develop, upgrade, enhance, and support Epic Prelude and RTE, Patient Access scheduling, registration and related third‑party systems. The incumbent will independently maintain large modules of an enterprise clinical information system, facilitate decisions affecting workflows and patient care, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Candidates should have 3–5+ years of relevant experience, working knowledge of HL7 interfaces, and

Qualifications

Working knowledge of inpatient and/or ambulatory clinic workflows.
Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
Must possess a working knowledge of HL7 and other interface/integration strategies.
Must have working knowledge of client/server systems, relational database structures and reporting tools.
Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
Must be willing to participate in 24 hour on-call rotations as a system duty officer.
Experience using/implementing/supporting an EMR in a hospital and/or ambulatory setting.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Demonstrated experience supporting the Epic EMR system core patient access applications (Registration, RTE, scheduling workflows, WQs, extracts, data courier).
Current certification in Epic Prelude/RTE.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
Ability to self initiate and effectively problem solve issues.
Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
Ability to function as a project leader and project member.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.
Ability to apply logical troubleshooting and analysis techniques for the purpose of problem resolution.
3-5+ years of relevant work experience.
