Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to maintain cleanliness, safety, and appearance of hospital facilities at 66 Blossom Street. You will perform routine floor care, dust, sanitize restrooms, and support meetings and events.

Schedule Monday to Friday 6:45AM–3:15PM, 40 hours weekly. Prior hospital cleaning experience preferred, with on-site work and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience using cleaning equipment and chemicals in hospital/healthcare settings.
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or with a team.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness, safety, and appearance of hospital facilities.
  • Sweep, mop, wax, strip, and polish floors; vacuum carpets.
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms and interior surfaces; restock supplies.
  • Empty and sanitize waste and recycling receptacles; remove litter.
  • Operate floor care equipment and assist in setting up spaces for events.
  • Identify and report maintenance or repair needs to keep environment safe.

Job Summary

Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of hospital facilities by performing routine environmental services and floor care duties. Does this position require Patient Care? No

Essential Functions
  • Sweeps, mops, waxes, strips, and polishes floors; vacuums and shampoos carpets.
  • Dusts and polishes furniture, fixtures, equipment, and woodwork.
  • Cleans walls, ceilings, windows, blinds, door panels, sills, and other interior surfaces.
  • Empties, cleans, and sanitizes waste and recycling receptacles.
  • Cleans and sanitizes restrooms, including sinks, toilets, urinals, mirrors, drinking fountains, and related fixtures; replenishes supplies as needed.
  • Removes litter and debris from building grounds and surrounding areas.
  • Operates high- and low-speed floor care equipment, including stripping and buffing machines.
  • Sets up tables, chairs, and equipment for meetings, events, and hospital activities.
  • Identifies and reports maintenance or repair needs within assigned areas.
  • Maintains a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

Experience
  • Experience working with the cleaning equipment and chemicals used in hospitals and healthcare centers 2-3 years required.

  • Good communication and comprehension skills.
