Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Environmental Scientist/Environmental Risk Assessor to support Human Health and Ecological projects within the Environmental Services Group. The role focuses on regulatory compliance across federal, state, and local environmental projects.

You will assist with site investigations, develop and apply risk assessment models, and collaborate across disciplines to implement approved project approaches. Travel may be required and mentorship is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Science or related discipline with professional scientist registration/certification.
• 7 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required; frequency contingent on duties.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Support site investigations and analysis for human health (HHRA) and ecological risk assessments (ERAs).
• Contribute to development of DQOs, QAPPs, and SAPs.
• Assist in planning and preparing CSEMs, HHRAs, SLERAs, BERAs for various complexities.
• Collaborate with scientists, geologists, engineers, and toxicologists on project approaches.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff.
• Support proposals and responses to client RFPs; develop white papers on environmental topics.
• Present at conferences to raise visibility of firm’s products and services.
