Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking an Environmental Risks Manager to lead the development and implementation of inspection policies, health and safety programs, and emergency response procedures across multiple sites.

This role requires coordinating with Federal and State environmental agencies, overseeing remediation activities, and mentoring staff while ensuring compliance with Responsible Care principles and company safety standards. Travel up to 50% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field.
• Five years of related experience preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies.

Responsibilities

• Promote safety as a core value of the company.
• Assist in training of driver and staff employees, as necessary.
• Assist in Corporate Auditing Functions.
• Facility HSSE audits.
• Responsible Care audits.
• Spill response equipment audits.
• Work to secure EPA SmartWay.
• Develop and implement HAZWOPER training programs.
• Perform Incident Management duties, post incident for service failures requiring mediation.
• Prepare daily reports on large incidents and submit to Vice President of Legal Services.
• Communicate with Federal and State Environmental agencies on remediation efforts as required.
• Schedule and Conduct Emergency Response Drills.
• Emergency in-transit drills CSC level fire or security drills.
• Respond to emergency events on behalf of UPT.
• Work with VP for Legal Services on equipment and manpower needed for remediation.
• Develop and oversee the implementation of processes to respond to environmental accidents.
• Oversee on-site remediation of contaminated areas.
• Work with Emergency Remediation Services on scope of work and supervise the same.
• Review invoices submitted by third-party vendors for remediation services provided to UPT.
• Submit necessary reports to Federal and/or State environmental agencies, on behalf of UPT, concerning remediation efforts.
• Collect and test soil samples.
• Support Regional Safety Managers in performance of their duties.
• Assist the Vice President of Legal Services on development and implementation of HSSE programs.
