Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Environmental Scientist/Environmental Risk Assessor to support Human Health and Ecological projects within the Environmental Services Group. The role focuses on regulatory compliance and risk assessments for federal, state, and local environmental projects across CDM Smith’s portfolio.

The position involves data interpretation, development of QAPPs/SAPs, exposure modelling, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality environmental solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science or related discipline with professional scientist registration/certification OR Master's degree in Science or related discipline.
• 7 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required with frequency contingent on duties.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Supports site investigations and data interpretation for human health risk assessments (HHRAs) and ecological risk assessments (ERAs).
• Contributes to DQOs, QAPPs, and SAPs for projects.
• Prepares CSEMs, HHRAs, SLERAs, and BERAs for various complexities.
• Collaborates with scientists, geologists, engineers, and toxicologists on project approaches.
• Provides technical evaluation of client documents and supports meetings with clients.
• Provides guidance and training to junior staff and mentors within the discipline.
• Supports proposals in response to client RFPs and contributes to white papers on environmental issues.
• Attends conferences and symposia to showcase firm capabilities.
